Fresh in from the winter cold: Six works of the Russian Avantgarde!
These works mainly stem from the heirs of a private collection previously stored in a Swiss freeport. The deceased collector could not realize his project of opening a museum specialized in Russian avantgarde any more. One constructivist relief and four suprematist paintings are of unknown authorship as the works are unsigned. By contrast, one painting in oil pastels by Burliuk comes from the collection of Katherine Sophie Dreyer (1877-1952), a New York painter and arts patron, from where it went to a Belgian private collection.
Most of the works need some further research; they will enter our offers in classic modernism right after this has been done, so keep watching out!
